Ethan’s Corner

Since that there’s so much to say, I’ll just sum up 1 post here. If not, somebody will complain my blog is too confusing…

     This is actually my company’s teambuilding event which was held on 4th August 2007. The day start up with a very early meet up at carpark in FTZ III, but end up waiting nearly 1 hour to depart. My team didn’t start up well with 4 people didn’t come out of 9, so only 5 people in my team (yes, the smallest team among all).

     So the bus ride began and seriously I don’t know how long it takes as whole day I didn’t monitor my watch or my phone at all. Arrived at the Penang National Park a.k.a End of the World, we gather up and do some briefing plus light warm ups before proceed to hiking. Ask me, it feels like a mini jungle tracking as we never hike the way up as we just going through the routes. Not much to highlight here as it’s just a normal walk for myself…

     Completing the hiking, we arrived at the jetty area and was welcomed on time with a heavy rain We end up hiding below the jetty bridge to take shelter while waiting the rain to cool down and taking turns to board the boat. Mine was second last boat, so the rain started to stop when I board the boat. Typical small boat ride, I felt it was quite a long ride and especially when one of my team member keep feeling dizzy beside me. Still, we bear with it and managed to arrive safely…

     Once arrived at Pantai Kerachut, immediately we settle down and went on with our very first event, the team presentation. Some of the highlights will have to be the loan sharks of Vicknesh and William, Darek the drug addicter, and the gay partners with Aaron acting up as Julius. As for my team, during the bus ride, I drew up the title "Superhero" which we 5 people just discuss it briefly. Surprisingly, everyone managed to be so spontanious to act up the scene and everyone managed to enjoy the show. And of course, thanks to the act, now everyone in Intradeco is calling me as "Superman"… -_-|||

     Next it was the luxury lunch. To sum up, it was really a very good preparation, but maybe just too much for normal people consumption. Luckily for me it was just good enough to keep me full. Well, the activities continue with short break between each games. Honestly the game was just ok only, nothing great to mention also except we being given handicapped and 1 game was joined by our boss Julius and Michael (thanks boss!). By the end of the event, we have some speeches by our Director and Project Manager plus some prize giving. For our team, we got 2nd place in overall performance which comes with RM20 Jusco voucher and RM10 Starbucks voucher. And they gave everyone a souvenir of a necklace alike. Nice!

     The day ends with another boat ride straight back to the main jetty and as usual, a slow ride due to the tide changes. Just thought that the day already cools down, somebody brought up a water brawl the moment I reach the shore. Using our drinking waters, YenNee splash it up my face. And just because I am in the same channel as her, so I went along hunting her all the way returning the favor. Well, we both enjoyed it quite alot but pity others who saw us as they are totally surprised. Possibly there’s just 1 thing that doesn’t sound right is because a new friend that I knew on the spot, Stephanie, described the situation quite improper (because she said I make her wet)

     So finally another bus ride returning to the place where we started and everyone went back home respectively. I myself went back with a good smile as the teambuilding brings me good joy. It could have been better but well, hopefully there’s more to look forward in future. Thus kudos to everyone!!!
