Near the Lunar…
September 12, 2008 by ez12k
Coming this weekend is the Lunar/Mooncake festival, thought it will be better to write up something here although none of it will be about my celebration
Things to start off, the last week’s trip to Penang’s Toy Museum and AEON Jusco Prai CIty. It was last week Friday’s one whole day trip togther with my colleagues (Darek, Alice, Alva). But the day started off without me actually as I went to AutoCity to meet up with my buddy, Chim (another Ethan), at McDonalds. Reason is to discuss some insurance thingy (he’s my agent) and some minor chats before he went for his interview, also at AutoCity area. And did I mentioned that it was a rainny morning day…
Well, after that, I returned back to the island and meet up with the rest who had breakfast at Pekaka Maxim Dimsum Restaurant. Since I already ate, we proceed with our plan to the toy museum. This is actually my second trip to the same place (previous trip was with my hometown friends) thus I didn’t expect much, just for the sake of joining friends. As a toy fan (you will know how crazy I am in future posts), I do enjoy the visit again together with others. Took some pictures, but only this picture below worth for me to upload here
Do you know where I find him? Probably nobody would expect that place :P
Next stop, we went to the new Jusco in Prai City. Our trip was via ferry across to the mainland. Been quite awhile since I boarded a ferry (the last one was when I was 6), so it’s kind of fun in a way. Upon reached Prai, kind of took us awhile to find the place because none of us have any good road direction of the place (and it was quite isolated if you ask me). After the tiring search, we reached the spot which was quite ok only. The place was reasonabaly nice, but lacks much variety (probably still new, there’s 3rd floor not yet opened). We had our “lunch + dinner” at Hongkie Restaurant (forgot the actual name), which was quite ok also. This lunch was taken around 3pm time, but I consider as two meal due to the food that I order:
Dont be cheated by the picture, there’s more than what you see here. But the food was still nice :P
After the dinner, we spent the time wondering around the place. As I mentioned earlier, still not much things that we expect to see on this place. So the shopping was quite fast, and we end up going back home earlier than we expected. Before going back, all 3 of them bought some doughuts at Big Apple (I wonder why they named it that way cause there’s no apple in the whole damn shop at all!). I didn’t bought it cause not really into it, food wasn’t the thing that crossed my mind at that time though. So the trip ends with everyone went back home peacefully, and again rainny…
The other story here I want to share is sort of promise I made to my colleague, Vicky. It’s actually about last Tuesday where I rode on his car for the first time, and it’s my first ride in a Korean car
(Kia Spectra). The reason we had such a chance is because it’s our dinner time, and all this while our break time is different due to coverage issue with exception that day cause I attended training which dragged over my break time. Riding on a Korean car with the Korean smell, that’s the way man (and surely sounds weird here :P). Come to think about it, it was the first time I went break time with him after knowing him for 2 years ++. What an honour my friend…
Finally, what I will be doing for the Lunar celebration? Looks like it will be stuck here at home in Penang, get over with my off days and proceed to work as usual. How boring… I am still arranging some stuffs from my side here, from “investing” money in expensive hobbies, awaiting a swicth in job, arranging some outings etc.
Stay tune, I will post blogs of my hobby stuffs in near future. But rest as for now, gratz… :D
