Ethan’s Corner

Probably this month will be much filled with lots of happenings that might conclude yet another long post here, so have to make my effort here now.

     The month start off with a gathering back in Ipoh. While normally we expect everyone to return during Raya holidays, this year was just so-so only. Our gathering spot this time was at MP Bungalow (I didn’t knew the name got add Bungalow until recently), and this time the organizer was KaiWah with Eddy arranging. Turns out majority of the people couldn’t make it initially, I was thinking the turnout will be 4-5 people only, but plus all the late comers, the gathering was still a success with 11 people! Had Belgium beer for the first time, surely got better taste than other well-known beer, but my personal favorite that night is to eat “nga choy kai” at Onn Kee after the gathering. After so many years didn’t ate already, the feel is perfect…
     Coming back to Penang, means back to work again. At workplace, now struggling to find the new team for the newsletter project. While I understand the reason behind to move both me and Vicknesh to advisor role, tough is nowadays nobody interested in such things except we two, got times we were considering to do the whole project with just the two of us! Well, the worse is yet to come, although I am doing just plain normal in office cause the worse part is in my new coming office. I think I will be able to share more nightmare stories in coming weeks…
     Up to recently, last Friday was a long day. In actual, it was the department’s teambuilding actually at the Johnny’s Steamboat in Qbay (2nd visit here, the 1st visit was memorable due to certain reasons :P). Actually the food was just ok, but no specialty. Event started at 7pm I guess, but I came around 7.45pm due to attend meetings plus some traffic. Not much to highlight although there are games, awards, etc. as I came late already and I just ate only throughout the night without even much chatting except those at my table (Yeoh, Stephen, Jasmine, all also my boss!). And of course, it’s Darek’s b’day that day itself with some simple celebration…

     But the celebration didn’t end there. After the event over, some of them (Alva, Alice, Eugene, Darek, BengHooi, Emmanuel) wanna have some more fun while listening to my stories. As it was heavy pour rain that night, we all end up stucked in Qbay and decided to have a drink in TGIF (again! :D) We picked the bar spot this time which really is cool sitting there (I always enjoy sitting at bar) and ordered our drinks. Probably some of the drinks are strong liquors, it did get us up in the mood, and once again we celebrate Darek’s b’day the TGIF style! I tell you, it is one of the most happening celebration I ever seen here, and of course the best quality time together with colleagues!
     So far, things are just going as it is. I think this month was much more alive and happening, not going to say that I am boring as usual eBay shopping paused awhile cause I collected the “toys” that I wanted already (collectable stuffs is one hell expensive hobby!) Work is going to take drastic change soon (some of you already knew it) and once again, looks like I am planning a “return” trip to KL once again to meet up my friends (have obligation to meet those that I missed out plus those that I meet already). Not necessary walk around KL, possibly might arrange to take a walk in Genting
     Much stuffs need to be sorted out. I am still clearing off my mind of other doubts and feelings, focus is the keyword here. And that’s how I end here
