Classic family holiday…

Here’s the follow up part of the previous story…
After the rest which I barely get enough, we woke up the following day and took off to KLIA airport at 7am. As my brother’s place is considered near to airport, so the journey was quite smooth on that morning. It took us around 40 minutes to reach the airport, and we waited for the 8am flight. After awhile around 8.30am, my sis finally appeared together with Charlie. While it is refreshing to see my sis back again, this is our first meet with Charlie. And also, this is Charlie’s first visit to Malaysia and Asia, so he’s quite excited as much as we do too… ![]()
On the spot itself, my brother drove us along Putrajaya as a road tour for Charlie to catch some good pictures of the place itself before heading to Puchong for our breakfast. Can’t help to say that how impressed am I to find out that my brother knew such places
Our breakfast was Dim Sum at Puchong, which my sis is really looking forward for local food, same goes to Charlie too for first experience. The meal was quite enjoyable especially with nice weather which suits everyone. After the breakfast, we went to a local Chinese temple somewhere near Mid Valley (yes, I forgot the name again) for Charlie to have a tour around. I think I recall taking a picture with Charlie here, but can’t be sure cause it’s his camera, not mine ![]()
Our next stop is KL Tower. Initially we wanted to go Petronas Twin Tower, but due to limited time of obtaining the tickets, we have go with the workaround instead. The trip to KL Tower was quite fun as we all have a good view of the whole KL itself. Apart from the tower itself, we also went for the mini-zoo to watch some small collection of exotic animals. Charlie has a fobia for snakes, so it’s quite challenging for him to enter that place though. Apart from snakes, there are also spiders, parrots, collection of birds, rabbits, monkeys, and lizards. Pretty cool for a place that size ![]()
While we tour around KL Tower, we think that at least best to have Charlie take a closer look at Petronas Twin Tower although we can’t enter inside. So we went to KLCC area and have a short walk around the park outside for him to get a closer look and also take some pictures as well. The trip to KLCC was quite short as we didn’t take a walk around KLCC fully, and headed back to Puchong for lunch break at Hainan Cafe. Later we dropped by at our brother’s place for a short rest and bath before head back straight to Ipoh…
Back at our home, our parents and my 2nd sis already waiting anxiously for our return. Charlie did manage to get along with the family well, and we had our dinner together at home. Possibly this is the first time ever we had such reunion dinner with everyone there apart from CNY occassions. Again, Charlie impressed us with his flexibility to adapt to the local food, and he sure enjoyed it fully!
And after such a long day, both me and my brother off to bed early which is quite obvious on that day itself…
Day 2, we actually brought Charlie to see a local Chinese medication due to the reason of his left hand having movement problem, suspect due to him slept on his hand causing numbness. After the medication, my brother brought him to some of the famous Ipoh caves for visiting together with some of my family members (my cousin’s son managed to RUN on those therapy walking stones). Plus some meet ups of my sis with her friends back here, and another family dinner, that concludes the day itself.
Day 3, with my brother’s kindness, this time he brought Charlie to go visit Kellie’s Castle in Batu Gajah. Something that I learnt from there is that foreigners are not charged for visitting the place, but local people are charged entrance fees instead
It was long day trip there before they headed to Kinta City for a walk around the complex. The time filled in as usual with my sis and friends before we had our dinner outdoor this time at a local seafood restaurant nearby.
Day 4, my sis and Charlie went to Penang for 2 days 1 night trip. Nothing to say already till Day 5 when they returned back. Initially Charlie wanna visit the local pubs and clubs, but my sis reluctant to go in the end. What surprised me was Charlie was thinking of getting me to join them too
But still in the end, we didn’t went anyway because the weather also wasn’t really that good on that recent times as it keeps raining heavily. Instead they watched a DVD at home that they bought in Penang, the movie entitled “Stepbrothers” (one crazy comedy movie, watch it if you can)
Up till the Sunday itself, finally it’s my turn come back to Penang to start back work on Monday. Before I left, we had a small photo sessions together especially with Charlie. For me, I believe it is a memorable moment for everyone of us. Just that too bad that we all forgot to take our very own family photo (my mom reminded us the very last minute before I left back to Penang).
As I am typing now, my sis and Charlie should be in the plane and on the middle way of somewhere heading back to Colorado US to end their holiday. I sure hope they have an enjoyable time cause I do!!! ![]()
